1st Stent Done!

Mom did have a stent done today, Praise the Lord the they got the stent in successfully! The doctors first did the arteriogram on her left carotid artery it was about 85% blocked and the right one about 80% which is better than was indicated with the sonogram. They did sedate her a bit more because she was not holding still and then they put in the stent. The Doctors said it went as well as it could be expected - it was difficult due to the age and condition of her arteries. They also found the her brain does have atherosclerosis which may have caused this stroke to begin with instead of the carotid artery. She is now in the ICU at HEB and should be in there about a day and then to a regular room for a few days and then back to the Kindred Rehab Hospital. Please keep praying for her healing and comfort.
